Semarang, C Java - The Central Java Cultural and Tourism Agency said that about 18 foreign incursion boats or yachts are scheduled to call at the Tanjung Emas port of Semarang, for a visit to the province.
"Actually, at least 18 foreign yachts will be mooring at Tanjung Emas," Head of the Central Java Cultural and Tourism Agency Gatot Bambang Hastowo said here Sunday.
He said some other foreign tourism operators are still having negotiations on visits to Central Java.
"The 18 yachts had already received a green light to go to Central Java," he said.
He said if each of the yachts brought 500 passengers, the number of foreign tourists to the province will increase significantly.
Earlier, Central Java Governor Bibit Waluyo said that in 2009 a total of 15 yachts visited the province, bringing 9,379 tourists from many countries.
The total number of tourists to Central Java in 2009 reached 19 million, with an average length of stay of 1.94 days.
