Banten - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono here on Thursday highlighted part of the government's achievements in implementing its first 100-days program.
At a function to dedicate Labuan coal-fired power plant (PLTU Labuan) in Pandeglang district, Banten Province, the president promised that the government would soon explain in detail the first 100-days program which had already been implemented.
"In the near future the government will explain what it has and has not achieved in its first 100-day program," the president said.
According to a report from Presidential Unit for Development Management and Supervision (UKP4) chairman Kuntoro Mangkusubroto, President Yudhoyono mentioned that only a small part of the program had yet to be achieved.
Therefore, the president reminded the people to understand first the first 100-day program before criticizing the government, because he explained that the program was not something extraordinary, but only the first step for the government to decide the direction of its duty in the next five years.
In the first 100-day program, there are 15 priorities out of 45 plans, in addition to 129 plans of action and therefore the president expressed hope that the criticism addressed to the government should be relevant to the programs which had been planned by the government.
President Yudhoyono also explained that the government had three programs to achieve, namely to omit the blockages of government programs, to speed up snail-paced programs, and to improve various regulations of the government and minister decisions.
"That is all about so-called 100-day program. If one wants to measure the government achievement, he or she should match it with the 45 plans and the 129 plans of action," the president said.
He mentioned that in the first 100-day the government had developed 1,206 drinking water facilities in the areas with water scarcity, infrastructure facilities in various areas, and examined the adequacy of all dams across the country.
