Bojonegoro, E. Java - State-run oil company PT Pertamina is optimistic it will reach its production target of 126,000 barrels per day in 2008, Corporate Senior Vice President, Upstream, Karen Agustiawan said.
"From the Cepu Block oil field, Pertamina would get 14,000 bpd of oil," Karen said here Thursday.
Currently, the company's oil production stood at 117,000 bpd.
Karen observed preparations in Banyu Urip and Jambaran oil fields in Mojodelik Village in Bojonegoro which are to begin production in late 2008.
She also observed the construction of a mini refinery in Sumengko Village which has a 6,000 bpd production capacity that would be used to process crude oil from Cepu Block.
From 20,000 bpd of oil produced in Banyu Urip oil field, some 6,000 bpd would be processed in the mini refinery and 10,000 bpd in PT Humpuss Patagrass' mini refinery in Cepu, Central Java.
The remaining would be channeled through a 6-inches pipe from Banyu Urip oil field to an oil reservoir in Tuban.
