RI HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE FOR CHINA STRENGTHENS THEIR SOLIDARITY

Chengdu, China - The Indonesian humanitarian aid for quake victims in Chengdu Province, China, would be able to improve the solidarity and friendship between the two countries, an Indonesian diplomat said on Sunday.

"The humanitarian aid would strengthen the solidarity and understanding between the two countries," Indonesian Ambassador to China Sudrajat said here.

He added the two countries  already had a high sense of solidarity with disaster victims of other countries, including the sending of humanitarian aid which include medical assistance.

The government of China immediately sent medical supplies and food to Aceh after it was hit by a tsunami in 2004. "We sent this humanitarian assistance to show our attention to China that also had given us similar humanitarian aid to us," he added.

The assistance also include six tons of food, 17 tons of emergency tents  worth Rp4.5 billion, he added.
